My 5 Spring Skincare Favorites

BeautyLibby RasmussenComment

Something about spring makes me want to get my skin in shape. In summer, I wear less makeup and try to create that natural glow without harsh sun exposure. Other than my GO TO, sunscreen, I am a sucker for Vitamin C serums and when I asked my girl @jennrog about the serum she uses, she had GLOWING reviews about @heladerm. I’ve been using their Vitamin C serum the past 2 months or so and now it’s an essential in my AM routine. If you want to know more, check out my latest post on the blog for more skincare favorites under $50.

IMG_1149_Facetune_24-04-2019-10-02-42.jpg

Powder Sunscreen - Last time I was at Celadon in DC for a facial (my favorite place) the owner, Judith, sent me home a tube of Eminence Sun Defense with SPF 30. In addition to liquid sunscreen that I apply every morning, I love bringing this tube around with me to touch up a few times during the day. Not only does it help reduce my nose and forehead shine, it protects my skin from the sun! If you’re in DC, please visit Celadon to purchase this product and support local businesses!

Mango Balm Dot Com - Believe the hype. The Mango Balm Dot Com from Glosser is as good as everyone says it is. Especially in time for summer, it’s like a little vacation on your lips. Use this BFF code with a new email for 10% off your order.

IMG_0924 (1).jpg

Lavender Facial Mist - Something I can’t say enough (other than wear sunscreen) is, if you want a well moisturized face, you need to provide it with moisture. This is a serious duh statement but I think there are so many people out there who thing that oils and serums alone with provide their skin with moisture alone. Wrong. What they do is they keep moisture in, which is great, but the good moisture needs to get there in the first place.  Enter facial mists. I use a facial mist right after showering or washing my face for that added spray of moisture before applying my Vitamin C serum. Really, any facial mist will do (I love this one from Caudalie too) but this Cordial Organics Lavender Hydrosol CBD mist is my favorite, especially before bed. Again, if you’re in DC, please visit Take Care Shop to purchase this product and support local businesses! If not, you can order online here.

Vitamin C Serum - Something about summer (or approaching it) always makes me want to get my skin in shape. In summer, I wear less makeup and try to create that natural glow without harsh sun exposure. Other than my GO TO, sunscreen, I am a sucker for Vitamin C serums and when I asked my girl @jennrog about the serum she uses, she had GLOWING reviews about @heladerm’s Vitamin C Serum. I’ve been using their Vitamin C serum the past 2 months or so and now it’s an essential in my AM routine. Shop the Heladerm Serum on Amazon here!

Bag Balm - You heard me. This stuff is called Bag Balm and if you’re a kid from the Midwest, you probably know it better as “Udder Balm” yes, like as in a cow udder. Growing up my hands would get so chapped and wind burned because I refused to wear gloves in like NEGATIVE 40 DEGREE WISCONSIN WEATHER. Oof. My Dad would slather on a thick coat of this on my hands and BAM, the next day they would be restored.  I personally use it on my elbows and sometimes my lips. It’s not light, and it doesn’t smell great, but it gets the job done and it’s like $6.

Organic Beauty Goodness with Take Care Shop

BeautyLibby RasmussenComment

Before I start this article, let it be known, I have my fair share of vices. And just because I’m making more of an effort to use organic skincare and beauty, does not mean that I don’t indulge in things that aren’t as pure.

FullSizeRender.jpg

That being said, making the switch was a small but important step to me. But, I couldn’t have done it alone and without the guidance of my good friend, Becky Wadell from Take Care Shop.  I’m writing this post, one, because I love Becky and support her small but mighty business as often as I can. And two, because I want you all to know that organic beauty can be sooo approachable.  I promise, it’s not scary, or super duper expensive. But, like most things that are just better the pricetag might be a little higher than the $9 chemical filled drugstore cover-up you’ve been using since 6th grade. But, it’s time to grow up, and really start thinking about the ways you can just well, do better!

*QUICK PLUG*
Tomorrow, November 16th, before the craziness of the holidays really begins, join them for our Annual Fall Fete where we celebrate all things cozy + well. Take Care Founder Becky Waddell will be hosting an evening of sampling, sipping and shopping with our wonderful community. Sign up for it HERE

The evening will feature:

-Sample bag gift with purchase, featuring some of our favorite products!
-Exclusive promotions
-Local sips from Cultured Kombucha and snacks
-Holiday hair styling with the team from Sense DC
-Lipstick bar - to help you find your perfect fall lip color!

Okay back to the post. Becky and the team at TKS have this awesome way of getting you started with their Makeup Bag Makeover and also amazing consultations. This was incredibly helpful for me because I had a lot of questions about beauty and FDA regulations (the truth might scare you into organic beauty honestly, in a good way) and how much product I should be using.

Some key takeaways I learned from my consult with Becky:

  • I was being too stingy with my skincare products.  I was under the wrong impression that less is more. And while this is sometimes true with other things, Becky encouraged me to really USE my products up! They won’t work if you don't use them! Right?

  • You really have to ask to get the right answers.  It’s nearly impossible to just search on the internet to find the right oil cleanser or serum for you. I’ll say it again, GO TO TKS and chat with them! They will lead you in the right direction.

  • Organic beauty doesn’t have to mean light beauty.  If you still want a dramatic effect like a bold lash or a pigmented lip, organic products can totally achieve this.

Okay so now for my favorite products (spoiler, I have a lot)

Maya Chia Seed Highlighter - Ooooooh heaven is a place on earth! This is my FAVORITE beauty product of the year.  I’m serious. And if you follow my stories on instagram, you know this is 100% true. I also posted this insta today if you want an example of this dreamy highlight. I use the shade After Hours.

RMS Lip2Cheek -  I love easy. This lip and cheek formula is smooth and easy for both.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Ayuna Essence and Cream II - for skincare because the collection is all about minimal product use - the mask is side ingredients, brightening and plumping, and the moisturizer is just pure magic.

I use the mask pretty liberally, once a week and really pile it on (see below hehe!)

From TKS Why We Love:

  • This emulsion melts onto the skin and has excellent sensorial properties. It targets a range of skin functions, while expanding the potential benefits obtained from botanical ingredients.

  • Incorporates the science of phyto-peptides and plasmas rich in Botanical Cell Factors, including Green Carrot, Arabian Cotton and Pomegranate.

  • Adapts to circadian rhythms, acting as a protective shield during the day and enhancing the skin’s natural repair & restore functions at night.

  • Hydration release adapts to the skin’s needs and the moisture levels in the environment.

Kari Gran Lip Whip - I started using Kari Gran YEARS ago and didn’t even realize it was organic.  I love the light feel and the peppermint smell.

Varnish Lane Nourishing Nail & Cuticle Oil - I use this stuff every night. My good friend Lauren, owner of Varnish Lane in DC has worked tirelessly to create this formula and let me tell you, it has don’t wonderful things for my nails and cuticles.  Use THIS CODE for a 20% discount off your first visit to Varnish Lane

FullSizeRender.jpg

Vitruvi Essential Oil - I got a diffuser, which I’m in love with. See here for it’s trippy, beautiful glow. And, I obviously needed an organic essential oil to put in it. I snagged a bottle of this Vitruvi oil and have loved falling asleep to the calm scent at night.

According to TKS they are 100% pure with absolutely no fillers, diluting oils, synthetic fragrances or unnatural components of any kind. They’re also tested on 3 different occasions for purity and potency.

Truthfully, I could go on and on about how much I love my friendship with Becky and the wonderful experiences I always have at Take Care Shop, OR you could stop by tomorrow from 5-7pm at the shop at 1338 Wisconsin Ave NW and see for yourself.  Don’t live in DC? What Happens When Your Beauty Products...Expire? Well-Kept Beauty Helps

BeautyLibby RasmussenComment

A few weeks ago, I talked about my favorite skincare products that I like to keep cold in the fridge (and even my freezer) and it occurred to me, that I really have no idea when my beauty products expire.

I had a kind of scary realization as I was putting some seriously concentrated Vitamin C serum on my face that, well, didn’t smell like it used to.  It wasn’t rancid or foul, it was just, different.

Then I realized that I have had this serum probably a little too long (more than a year and a half) and that it was time I should toss it.  EEEEEK. I am no hoarder, but I HATE throwing away beauty products. I hoard old Lancôme mascara tubes -  twelve to be exact because, I have an unhealthy attachment to mascara and just can’t throw it away. Or maybe it’s because I have a love/hate relationship with the fact that I spend that much on mascara.  I’m also thinking about the cobalt blue shimmery eye shadow that I’ve had since I was nine, yes NINE. And I don’t know why I can’t get rid of it. Moving on.

IMG_0685.jpg

So when my friend reached out to me about a new beauty app, Well-Kept Beauty, which tells you when your makeup and beauty products are about to expire, I was like, telllll meeeee morrrrreeeeee.

This might be obvious to some of you, but the expiration date of my makeup is not something that’s on my mind all the time. This is understandable because:

1. There aren’t expiration dates on most makeup products and
2. Who has time to keep track of it?

Luckily, according to the app, “Well-Kept Beauty keeps tabs on all your products so all you have to do is use them. We track when they expire based on industry suggested use by dates acknowledged by the FDA. We also make it simple for you to keep personal notes on each product. And well before they expire, you can create a skincare routine and record your allergies and the ingredients you need to avoid.”

LOVE THIS. And here’s how it works:

Step 1: Add your new products by brand name search or adding a photo.

Step 1 (1).PNG

Step 2: Note when you first open and use the product. You can also note ingredients that do not work well for your skin. This is great for people who have sensitive skin and have problems in the past.

Step 2 (1).png

Step 3: Well-Kept Beauty will let you keep personal notes on your skincare routine, product preferences, and ingredients you want to avoid (allergies or reactions.) Then the app will allow you to build a skincare routine that can be tweaked.

Step 3 (1).png

Step 4: The app alerts you when a product expires and sets reminders to let you know if a product you want to add or try has an ingredient that could be problematic for your skin.

Step 4 (1).png

If you follow along with me on Instagram stories, you know that I’m trying to really simplify my beauty and skincare routines and am going to look to this app to help me do that.  The reminder to toss my products will seriously help me reevaluate how many products I have vs. need and also keep my beauty routine clean, and Well-Kept.

Make sure to check out Well-Kept Beauty for more and follow them on Instagram @wellkeptbeauty. So excited to start using this app when it launches in September!

Beauty for Breakfast: Morning Skin Routine

BeautyLibby RasmussenComment

My skin is truly at its best in the summer.  I wear less make-up, more sunscreen, and try my best to hydrate more. All good things, but occasionally I need a little recharge and reminder. I'm noticing sunspots where none used to be.  I sometimes "forget" to wash my face at night and properly remove my mascara. And, like many of us, are 100% guilty of not drinking enough water.  So here's a little reminder to myself that I thought I would share with you all.

Skincare

Sunscreen - I've talked about this before but you guys, I really mean it. We MUST use sunscreen on our faces every. single. day.  It's so important. Not just for the obvious reasons *cough cough* wrinkles but that harmful sun damage that newsflash, your Botox or chemical peel wont be able to combat the rest of your life.  Being "naturally tan" shouldn't be your excuse anymore and I certainly wont say it anymore either.  Also, most "built-in" SPFs aren't strong enough which is why I use a liberal amount (quarter-size) or more on my face and neck every morning. Yes, it's going to be a little thick at first but this is when you can take the time to drink some tea or even better, Restorative H2O (see below) and let it absorb into your skin. This R+F sunscreen is easily my favorite.

Lifting Youth Creme - I was given this creme as a gift from Saks in Tysons a few months ago and have been hooked. Just a little bit of this creme goes a long way, which is great considering this is quite the luxury skincare item. What is does: It's infused with the brand's exclusive Floralixir™ Dew, and promises stunningly radiant, youthful skin. Yes please. It also delivers Ultimate Lift technologies and rejuvenating nourishment.  The Floralixir Dew helps to reawaken the skin powers of visible regeneration, strength and youthful renew. I apply just a little bit on the tops of my cheeks, forehead and neck.

Vitamin C Serum – In addition to protecting my skin via sunscreen, I also use a Pure Vitamin C serum to help boost collagen production, which provides an anti-oxidant protection and exfoliates my skin and gives it a natural glow. Pure Vitamin C can penetrate faster and deeper into the skin when applied.  I typically use a few drops on my face, neck, and the tops of my hands.

Foam Cleanser – The best way for me to really rid my face of any makeup or surface impurities is with this La Prairie foam cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling calm, smooth, and purified. I’ve found in the past that some cleansers that I use tend to feel like they take off almost too much of my skins natural oils and leave it feeling dry and dehydrated.  I’ve stuck with this one for a while because it leaves my skin soothed and hydrated.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Anti-Wrinkle Brightening Serum – I was sent this serum to try a few weeks ago and have used it nearly every day ever since. It’s essentially a two-for-one with its combined powerful collagen-stimulating peptides and advanced anti-aging properties with potent plant stem cells. The formula is really smooth and infused with rejuvenating vitamin B3 and stable time-released vitamin C to visibly diminish the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles. I’ve had some spots on my nose and cheeks for a while and this has definitely made them less noticeable, to me at least. I’ve been using a lot of it at night and a little in the morning.  I love the way it applies and feels cool on my skin after a hot shower.

IMG_7582.jpg

Ice Rolling

I’ve discussed the benefits of ice rolling before numerous times, particularly in this post. But in the summertime, I feel like my skin craves it the most.  Ice rolling is a favorite morning routine of mine because it cools my face after a hot shower or de-puffs after a night of drinks or salty food.  Typically, I’ll ice roll after applying my brightening serum and sunscreen.  The roller helps to evenly disperse the products into my skin, acting almost as a paint roller.

Beauty & Restorative Water

This year I got verrry very into Collagen Peptides.  I add a scoop to my coffee, water, cereal, you name it. So when JRINK launched their new line of Restorative Beauty waters, I was alllll about it.  We all know that beauty comes from within (blah blah blah) but really, it truly does.  What we put into our system plays a serious role in how we look and feel.  JRINK covered four essential bases for their waters and I’m seriously hooked. The four waters include: GLOW (Pure Rose, Collagen, Lemon, Beet, Alkaline H20) for glowing skin.  RELAX (Pure Lavender, Lemon, Beet, Alkaline H20) for stress relief, and relaxation. NOURISH (Pure Blue Pea, Collagen, Lemon, Alkaline H20) for your hair. Fun fact: Blue Pea is an excellent source of Bioflavinoid. Never heard of it? Well, it boosts hair growth and health. DETOX (Chlorophyll, Mint, Probiotic Acidophilus, Alkaline H20) for a cleaner, healthier liver.

Interested in trying out JRINK's new Resorative Waters? Do it. I love them. Make sure to use my friends + family code LIBBY10 at the checkout to save 10% on your first online order.

Remember, wear sunscreen, get enough rest, and drink plenty of water to stay prettttty this summer.  Thanks for letting me try out these waters JRINK! *As always, all of my opinions are my own.

Saks Beauty Week Tyson's Galleria

BeautyLibby RasmussenComment

This past year I've made beauty regimens a serious priority of mine. While I'm still guilty of "forgetting" to wash my face after a night out from time to time, I'm working on improving my overall skincare and beauty routine.  For me, this was starting with better quality products. Less drugstore, more department store.  Saks Tyson's Galleria truly has it all so when I found out about their beauty week, I was thrilled.

FullSizeRender (20).jpg

If you follow along on my Instagram stories, you saw that I stopped by Saks last week for the dreamist La Prairie facial.  I also had a chance to check out some of their latest and greatest products for beauty week.

FullSizeRender (26).jpg

You can find so many of my favorites from the store in The Spring Beauty Book.  My overall favs would have to be the Estee Lauder Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Creme for Face and Eyes and Hydrating Creme Cleanser. Another goodie was this Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Palette, which I desperately needed for everyday use.  In addition, thenSaks Beauty Dept includes offerings from Kilian, La Prairie, Chanel, La Mer, Dior, YSL, Clinique, Lancome, Kiehl’s, Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier, Jo Malone, SKII, Cle De Peau, Sisley, Tom Ford and more.

I also love the beauty ritual guides that Saks is offering for Beauty Week.  We have our eyes set on the Trish McEvoy 'Power of Brows' tutorials on Thursday 2/23.

Make sure to shop soon. Saks is offering this complimentary tote bag (in stores and online) with any $150 or more purchase. Even better, at $300, you'll get an adorable wristlet to match. Say hello to my new beach bag!  Saks Fifth Avenue in the Tysons Galleria is located at 2051 International Drive, McLean, VA 22102.

I Stopped Using Proactiv and This is Why

BeautyLibby RasmussenComment

Here's the deal, I started using Proactiv when I was about 14 years old.  Like most teenagers, I had some bumps and blemishes here and there that I wanted to get rid of but overall, nothing too serious.  I swore by this skincare routine well into adulthood, thinking, “if it works, it works.”  While this may be true for some, I found that I was ready to start thinking about my skin in a different way.  What did I want to solve, and what did I want to prevent?  As I’ve mentioned in my 26 Before 26 List, I’ve made it a serious priority of mine to wear sunscreen on a daily basis.  With the exception of getting a little crispy over the 4th of July weekend, I’ve held true to my promise and have made sun protection a daily part of my skincare routine.

This however, was a step that the Proactiv skincare system was lacking for me.  At 25, I’m thinking less about acne and more about skin protection and rejuvenation.  Don’t get me wrong, I loved using Proactiv, I just needed to switch things up.  Luckily, I didn’t have to stray too far from the brand that I loved and used for so long.  Shortly after making the decision to switch, I was in touch with my friend Mary Utsey, a consultant for Rodan + Fields. Yes, the same dermatologists that developed and created the Proactiv Solution.

I chatted with Mary for a bit on what I was looking for in a skincare line.  I made sure to mention the importance of including a sunscreen in my skincare routine. We also discussed some of my other skin woes; dullness, brown spots, and discoloration.

Mary then suggested the REVERSE regimen to target all of these skin issues.  Essentially, this skincare could help turn back the clock on my younger days of sitting in the sun sans sunscreen, in just 4 easy steps.  Similar to what I did with my Proactiv Solution, using the REVERSE products in the morning and at night, or whenever possible, has helped to brighten my complexion, prevent and repair sun damage, and even restore skin cells for a more youthful look.  Here’s a little more info about each step and what I like about it!

Step 1: Deep Exfoliation – First, I’ll begin by getting my skin wet with lukewarm water.  I’ll take about a dime-size amount onto my entire face and neck and will massage for about 30-60 seconds.  Many times, I think we forget to spend a little extra time in our exfoliation.  Really let the product do the work and keep working it into the skin. Rinse thoroughly pat dry.  I started out using the products every other day per instructions and have worked up to use every morning and night.

Step 2: Intensive Brightening Toner – I think there’s a common misconception that toners aren’t really necessary in a skincare routine.  For me, they’re critical.  Toners help to remove oil and traces of dirt and grime.  Essentially, if you wear sunscreen, or makeup, you should use a toner.  For this brightening toner, I use a gauze pad or cotton ball to apply the toner to my face.

Step 3: Dual Active Brightening Complex – This is quite possibly my favorite step of the process.  The dual process features vitamin C and retinol, to enhance skin brightening while helping to diminish the look of fine lines, along with kojic acid and licorice to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone over time.  After cleansing and toning, I use an equal pea-size amount of each tube next to one another.  Then, I simply blend the two and apply over my entire face until entirely absorbed into my skin.

Step 4: Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ Sunscreen – The final and arguably most important step is the REVERSE set is the sunscreen. Unlike many sunscreens, this product contains Vitamin E and green tea that fight free radicals and prevent future sun damage, while licorice extract and mulberry help to brighten dull skin.

So far I’ve used the REVERSE products for about a month and have already seen fantastic results.  Overall, my skin looks brighter and my skin tone, especially on my forehead and cheeks is far more even than when I started.  Initially, I had a small breakout here and there, but Mary ensured me that it was the change in my skincare routine, and the REVERSE products essentially working up the dirt and oil to the surface of my skin.

I cannot recommend this regimen enough, especially if you are looking for a skincare that targets signs of sun damage and aging, rather than simply acne.  Interested in more? Make sure to check out the other Rodan +Fields skincare lines and talk to my good friend Mary about which one works best for you.  Also, unlike many other skincare treatments I’ve considered in the past, I never once felt pressured to try or purchase something I wasn’t interested in. Added bonus, you can try the products for a full 60 days with the guarantee that they will produce visible results or your money back. I loved this, it really takes away from the pressure of investing in our skin!

**GIVEAWAY** Anyone who contacts or messages Mary in relation to this blog post will be entered into a drawing to win the latest Rodan + Fields Lash Boost and mini eye cream!

Current Beauty Obsessions

BeautyLibby RasmussenComment

No. One Kari Gran Lip Whip As someone who doesn't love wearing lipstick, I'm drawn to alternatives that are easy, light, and most importantly, pretty.  These Lip Whips from Kari Gran are so easy and actually last longer than most of the tinted chapsticks I typically use.  I love the peppermint in the whips and the colors are fantastic.

No. Two Charcoal Teeth Whitening and Lemon Charcoal Water Charcoal is one of my top beauty obsessions at the moment.  A few weeks ago I wrote about the products I'm using to help get a whiter smile and charcoal is my #1 at the moment.  Typically every other day I use the Tuxedo charcoal powder when I brush my teeth.  It can get a little messy so I usually brush them in the shower. The raw coconut charcoal is the best for making my morning lemon charcoal water. It's great for teeth whitening and calms my stomach in the morning.  The charcoal fizzes a little, creating an seltzer-like water.  Best part, it's not gritty at all.

No. Three Primally Pure Complexion Mist Sometimes you just need a pampering, which is exactly why I love using a floral complexion mist. This mist specifically, uses oils of ylang ylang (revitalizes skin and balances sebum secretions) and palmarosa (antibacterial and astringent) leaving my skin feeling really nourished and refreshed. It's really one of those small luxuries that I love having in my beauty routine.

No. Four Blissoma Solar Repair Serum This year, I made a promise to myself in my 26 Before 26 List, #19 - Start Wearing Sunscreen Daily. In keeping this promise, I've started protecting my skin with sunscreen and repairing it with this facial solar repair serum.

No. Five Acure Coconut + Argan Face Wipes  Try as I might to wash my entire face every single night, sometimes happy hours get the best of me and I can't possibly be bothered to do my whole nighttime skincare routine.  Which is why I love these Acure towelettes.  I keep them in my side table for those late (and lazy) nights and they smell amazing. I got these from Grove Collaborative and absolutely love them.

No. Six  Hansderma Ice Roller  I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm OBSESSED with ice rolling.  It has easily become my favorite part of my morning routine.  I love taking just 3-5 minutes every morning to relax and roll. Not sure about ice rolling, make sure to check out my post below on what it's all about!

Make sure to check out my last post about Ice Rolling here.

You NEED to Start Ice Rolling Your Skin + Hansderma

Ice what? If you have a freezer, you can start ice rolling sooner than you think. (Make sure to check out my giveaway at the bottom!)

We all know what it's like to wake up in the morning with a puffy, red face.  Regardless of how many hours of sleep or martinis you racked up the night before, there really hasn't been a solution to instantly cool and firm your face after waking up, until now. Like so many women, I am no stranger to the old frozen wet spoons trick for my cheeks and under-eye circles.  Now, the first thing I do after getting out of the shower, is ice roll.

Still confused? Let me break it down a bit more.

Ice rollers are incredibly popular abroad and have only recently started to gain notoriety in the states.  Often found behind-the-scenes at photo shoots and runway shows, many make-up artists swear by ice rollers to calm the skin. Everything about ice rolling ice simple, right down to the actual roller.  The Hansderma SkinCool Ice Roller I love and use daily is an easy handheld device filled with water and gel.  All I do is take it out of the freezer, and gently roll and massage across my face.  Within seconds of using the ice roller, yes seconds, I can feel my skin tighten and the see the puffiness and redness dissipate. I especially love using it on my under eye circles. I've also started to apply a few drops of my favorite nutrient-rich Glossier serum, on my skin before ice rolling.  The ice roller then evenly spreads the serum on my face and feels absolutely amazing

Men have also found ice rolling beneficial, especially after a close shave to help eliminate razor burn and redness. I've also used my ice roller for the countless times I've bumped my knees on anything and everything in my apartment.  Bye bye bruising.

I know what you're thinking, this seems completely unnecessary and a bit of a production. I can assure you, that once you try it, it will seem as crucial as brushing your teeth. If you're still skeptical, make sure to check out this article (number 3 could not be more true.) This YouTube Tutorial is also great!

If you're ready to start your soon-to-be new favorite routine, make sure to snag an Hansderma Ice Roller, for only $30, also sold on Amazon

This post was done in collaboration with Hansderma. It should be noted that I only review products I love and use regularly. My blue off-the-shoulder top is from Whistles

Favorites Lately - Korres Skincare

Pomegranate Cleansing Scrub ($21) - I love nothing more than a good facial scrub.  Typically I use the ProActive cleansing scrub, but use it less and less, especially when my acne/redness is at bay. I love the gentle yet effective grains in this scrub and that it doesn't leaving my skin feeling stripped of it natural oils, which is very important.

Pomegranate Toner ($22) - I used to think that I really didn't need a toner, but in reality, it was only because I didn't know what toners actually do. I use this after washing my face with the Pomegranate Cleansing Scrub and it manages to get all of the make-up that didn't wash off.  Not only that, the pomegranate water and natural astringents have actually made my pores look and feel smaller, almost like a tightening effect, without drying my skin out.

Wild Rose Brightening and Tone Corrector ($43) - I've always had an issue with skin tone and discoloration so serums and corrector have been a god-sent. This uses pure vitamin C and Wild rose oil to reduce the size and intensity of skin pigmentation and improves radiance. As I've mentioned in previous posts about Facial Serums 101, with continued use, serums can truly transform your skin over time.

Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream ($38) - This is easily one of the best face creams I've used in a while.  It's packed with vitamin C and hydrated my skin, leaving it so incredibly smooth then next morning without feeling greasy or sticky. I also love the Wild Rose scent.

*Special thanks to Korres for sending me these products. All opinions are my own.
